Improve transcription accuracy

Most transcription errors come from three places: unusual names and jargon, poor audio, and overlapping speech. Each has a simple fix.

In short

Add names, product terms and acronyms before you submit.
Record close to the microphone in a quiet room.
Avoid people speaking at the same time.
Review numbers, names and technical terms first.

Names and terms

List the words the model is unlikely to know: "Okafor, Kubernetes, SKU, Q3 OKRs". They help spelling; they do not replace what was said in the recording.

Audio quality

Use a headset or lapel microphone rather than a laptop microphone across the room.
Turn off fans and background music while recording.
Keep the original recording rather than a heavily compressed copy.

What to review first

Numbers, dates, names and technical terms carry the most meaning and are the most likely to be wrong. Check those against the audio before sharing.
